Do you spend more time worrying about the future than living in the moment?
Are racing thoughts, constant worry or a feeling of unease keeping you from fully enjoying life?
Anxiety can make you feel crazy. You can usually see and think clearly, but when anxiety takes over it’s as though you have no control of your thoughts or actions. Anxiety tends to have a huge presence in our thoughts and as such, it can feel impossible to feel like yourself. When you try to explain your anxiety, you might feel silly because it just doesn’t seem to make sense. On top of that, you often worry about when your anxiety might hit again and what others might think about you.
Frequent effects of anxiety:
Racing thoughts that, on the outset, might seem irrational. Sometimes, these thoughts might have a specific focus.
Feeling as though you cannot control your life; rather your anxiety makes decisions for you and tells you what to do
Physical effects such as motor tension, shortness of breath, racing heartbeats and pulse, hot flashes and GI discomfort
Difficulty sleeping
Constant worry about the future or past or what other people think of you. This can lead to social discomfort
